With +11.000 participants, +140 events and many, many partners involved, Internet Week Denmark (IWDK) is one of the leading digital festivals in Denmark and Scandinavia. The festival runs from May 12-17, 2020 and the planning is already in progress!

As an IWDK intern, you’ll  be a vital part in the process of planning and hosting IWDK20. You’ll get a unique chance to apply your knowledge and skills attained from your education into the real world. You’ll work together with a highly professional team and together we’ll create the best IWDK festival yet. 


IWDK is looking for three interns – two communication interns and one event intern

For all three interns, we offer:

  • A creative culture and flexible work environment
  • Skilled and engaged colleagues, who will work alongside you to teach you what they know
  • Plenty of insight and experience with event planning and communication for big events

The communication interns will…

  • Develop communication materials, primarily for online but also offline media
  • Contribute to making the entire communication before, during and after the festival run smoothly
  • Shoot and edit film and pictures
  • Set up and edit posters and other printable matters based on our key visuals
  • Have freedom to explore new communication concepts while maintaining our core communication (social media and newsletter

We expect that you…

  • Have hands-on experience with social media communication
  • Have a strong visual and graphical understanding
  • Have great writing skills
  • Are comfortable using InDesign and Photoshop
  • Move quickly from idea to execution
  • Assist in event planning when necessary
  • Are somewhat analytical, so you catch when something is not performing well enough and change it
  • Have some experience with WordPress or are ready to learn it fast
  • Are in the last half of your education and that you’ll use this internship as part of your education

The event intern will…

  • Contribute to planning and coordinating of events
  • Execute practical tasks in relation to events
  • Contribute to developing event formats and give feedback to event organizers
  • Contribute to creating exciting experiences for both participants and by-passers

We expect that you…

  • Have hands-on experience with event execution
  • Are ready to engage in dialogue about event execution with external partners
  • Have a strong ability to structure and create overview of the many details related to event execution
  • Move quickly from idea to execution
  • Are in the last half of your education and that you’ll use this internship as part of your education.

About IWDK

The seventh Internet Week Denmark takes place May 12-17, 2020. The festival is built on a crowdsourced principal with many partners contribute to the festival. The festival is targeted professionals, who work with technology, but there are also numerous events for citizens – children, adults, elderly.

The IWDK team is part of Erhverv Aarhus – the city`s independent business interest organization. We are located at Dokk1 and have a cosy and informal tone with a big focus on delivering great service for the festivals’ many contributing partners.


The internship has a duration of minimum 30 hours a week and runs for 4 months from February till May 2020.
